Day six is $6000...

I started thinking about the $6000 this morning, but only now have the time to sit down and spend it. I went over it at lunch today. One guy had a very easy time spending it--on three different lists. The other had a sort of quick time spending it.

I made my decision at lunch and 11:30 PM is a great time to make the purchase.

I got my couch and chairs earlier this week. Got some barstools and a DVD player. Now it is time for a really nice mattress, a really nice queen sized mattress, duvet, new pillows, new bed frame. I can do all that for $6000, right?

Let's see.

I'll start with the frame. How about the Quadrille Bed from Crate and Barrell? Kind of cool. Kind of works with those chairs that I got for the living room, doesn't it? It is $2199.

And then the bed frame needs a mattress. Now I know that there are better brands--I think Fabian said something about Sterns and Foster? But I'm really enjoying my Serta Pillowtop. Those seem to be in the $1299 range. (Wow, I did score a great deal getting my mattress for only $200!)

I need a comforter. A down comforter. How delicious is that? Look at this company! Cuddledown! I'm going to get a 700 Fill Power Sateen Comforter at a level three, queen sized. Made to order in Portland, Maine--it will keep me warm for years for (gulp) $459.

I'm going to stay at Cuddledown for a Deluxe Baffle Box Featherbed ($299) and four queen sized pillows also made out of Luxury Goose Down. Each costs $189.

Okay, so now I have $989 left. Time for some lovely sheets and pillow cases. I'm going to go with 500 count Italian Percale. Not totally my style, truth be told I like the designs at Target. My I have this one set that is 600 thread count, Egyptian cotton. Man, oh man. So nice. Whoa! Four pillowcases, one fitted, one flat, and a cover for the comforter. That is a shopping cart of $881.00

And with the last $107....

I'll get my Square Donut Sign framed and properly hung above my new bed. Yeah. I think that will make a for a good night's sleep.
